Biography
Dr. Folse has taught ESL / EFL for 41 years in the US, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Japan. He has written 75 books on vocabulary, reading, speaking, writing, grammar, and listening, including the popular Keys to Teaching Grammar (University of Michigan Press) and Great Writing series (National Geographic Learning). He has won many teaching and research awards. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses at UCF, including a course on research on vocabulary acquisition in UCF's PhD in TESOL program. He is a frequent presenter at conferences and institutions worldwide, with his most recent international presentations being in Panama (2022 Panama TESOL Summer Institute) and Egypt (US State Department Specialist Program, 2022).

- vocabulary in a second language, especially corpus linguistics involving vocabulary and grammar
