Biography
Heather Gibson joined UCF in 2011 and served as marketing director for Theatre UCF and the School of Performing Arts prior to her current position as Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Arts and Humanities. Her position has enabled her to create deep connections within the Central Florida academic and arts communities, and to develop strong interdepartmental ties within the university. She is instrumental in organizing the annual UCF Celebrates the Arts festival at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and serves on multiple committees and organizations within the UCF community including the UCF Communications Council, the UCF Collective Impact Strategic Planning Thematic Team and the Women’s Club at UCF.
Before moving to Florida, Gibson managed the box office at the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, and worked for seven years at the Aspen Music Festival and School, where she was involved in marketing, merchandising and sponsorships for one of the world’s most prestigious classical music festivals.
Gibson earned a Master’s in Business Administration from UCF in 2017 and has a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Women’s Studies from Penn State University.
