Neida Mora-Maus
Public Art Director
Neida Mora-Maus joined UCF’s Facilities and Construction
Department as a Project Manager in 2009. In 2013, she joined the College of
Arts and Humanities where she served as Space Coordinator and later as Space
Utilization Manager. In 2023, Neida was appointed as UCF’s first Public Art
Director.
Neida earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership at UCF in
2021, as well as a Bachelor of Art in Art History in 2016 and a Bachelor of
Science in Environmental Engineering in 1995.
In 2019, Neida was selected to participate in the 2018-2019
UCF’s Leadership Empowerment Program, a rigorous professional development
program designed to create opportunities for selected faculty and staff to gain
career-enhancing skills and experiences in today's changing educational
environment.
Duties
As Public Art Director, Neida is responsible for managing the existing and future public art collection on all UCF's properties. This new role will serve as a bridge for the College of Arts and Humanities and the UCF Facilities Administration team in the planning of new projects and maintenance of the existing collection. Once the Public Art Master Plan is established, the Public Art Director will coordinate with the School of Visual Arts on how to best introduce this program to the curriculum. She will closely coordinate all acquisitions, condition assessments, repairs, conservations, and deaccession processes with the UCF Art in State Administrator and UCF Art Gallery Director.
In addition, she will continue to collaborate with the Dean and Special Assistant to the Dean regarding CAH spaces related issues including, but not limited to new construction, renovations, minor project requests, furniture acquisition and removals, and coordination of logistics for all moves within the college.
