Biography
Dr. Park (she/her) teaches in the Philosophy and the Humanities & Cultural Studies programs. She is a faculty affiliate of the UCF Women's and Gender Studies program and the UCF Texts and Technologies program, an editorial board member of the interdisciplinary journal Queer Studies in Media and Popular Culture and an advisory board member for the Revaluing Care in the Global Economy network. Her areas of research and teaching expertise include Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, Postcolonial Theory, Motherhood Studies, and Science & Technology Studies with an emphasis on queer and technologically mediated forms of care.
Dr. Park educates to liberate, not indoctrinate. To paraphrase the ancient Greek philosopher, Plutarch, “the mind is a flame to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled.” In keeping with UCF Student Resolution 54-28, Dr. Park upholds a students' rights to learn and teachers' rights to teach free of state censorship and in keeping with professional codes of conduct. Her work as a Professor of Philosophy & Cultural Studies is guided the American Association of University Professor's Code of Professional Ethics and the American Philosophical Association's Code of Conduct.

- Critical kinship studies, with an emphasis on non-normative forms of mothering
- Precarity and care, especially as these intersect with emerging technologies
- Queer, feminist, decolonial analyses of contemporary U.S. culture, including institutional cultures

In this course, students will be introduced to the nature of philosophy, philosophical thinking, major intellectual movements in the history of philosophy, including topics from the Western philosophical tradition, and various problems in philosophy.
