The Interfaith Dialogue Certificate provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate religious and cultural literacy as a complement to their other areas of study. With the manageable 12-hour (4 course) requirement for completion, it is designed to be compatible with many different areas of study and career paths where religious literacy and intercultural conflict resolution are beneficial.

Through coursework in this program, students will gain a basic foundation in the main principles of interfaith and interreligious cooperation, including religious literacy, pluralism, dialogue facilitation, tolerance, conflict resolution, and appreciation for pluralism, and will be able to better recognize and address issues of religious difference and its impact on everyday life. The skills and knowledge gained through this certificate program will be relevant to students interested in the liberal arts and humanities, as well as professions such as medicine, business, education, social work, and technology.

The Certificate also includes options for experiential learning components and internship opportunities.
