Biography

Committed to the liberal arts with an emphasis on humanities and philosophy of the visual arts, aesthetics, oceanic phenomenology, athleticism, and art theory.

Education

Ph.D. in Visual Arts: Philosophy, Aesthetics, and Art Theory from Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (2025)

Research Interests

Phenomenology, opacity, spatiality, immersion in art, literature, and philosophy; 19th-21st century European and American painting and literature; Martin Heidegger, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Friedrich Nietzsche, pre-Socratic philosophy, Existentialism: Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone De Beauvoir; Jean-Luc Nancy, Peter Sloterdijk, Marcus Aurelius, and Seneca ... 20th-21st Century film, documentary, photography. The life and works of 20th century painter, David Hockney.
