In 2006, as a result of a generous gift to the university, the Mary Fleigh Mackoul Endowed Fund began. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide awards to UCF students enrolled in the College studying in the field of Middle Eastern Studies. One $500 scholarship will be awarded each spring semester.
The scholarship is renewable. Winners must reapply to be considered for an additional year. The criteria for awarding the scholarship will be consistent with the guidelines established by the University Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Selection Criteria
- Applicant must be enrolled as a UCF full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Degree audit will be verified.
- Enrolled in courses related to understanding the culture, politics and religion of Arab nations and Arabic language
