In his research, Mr. Padgett took a hunting ledger from DeBary Hall, a 19th century hunting lodge, and transcribed “the game record’s scrawled cursive into spreadsheets.” He then utilized the data he collected and transcribed, putting the information the Shiva VisualEyes tools, transforming the data into visual graphs. From these graphs, Mr. Padgett was able to examine the variety of game killed at DeBary Hall, in addition to finding a decline in the amount of game hunted over the course of the 37-year span that the ledger detailed.
