Biography
Herbert (Tommy) James (M. Arch, University of Florida) AIA, LEEP AP, is an assistant professor of architecture at the University of Central Florida. He has practiced architecture for 19 years in the realms of healthcare, hospitality, residential, and entertainment. He researches human behavior in the built environment, receiving funded opportunities to study placemaking domestically and internationally. He founded the Pipeline to Better Placemaking & UCF’s architectural prototyping lab. Mr. James leads UCF’s Habitat for Humanity and is working with the city of Orlando with their latest Mainstreet program in Parramore. He currently sits on the executive board for AIA Orlando.
