In this course, you will write new stories or novel chapters, but our emphasis as a class will be writing in community and expanding our creative practice. That is, we will focus on the writing process. We’ll read fiction from authors with highly varied backgrounds and vastly different approaches to structure, style, and content. This class will be generative; you can expect a lot of in-class writing and sharing. This course also includes a workshop component in which you will give and receive feedback to fellow writers. At the end of the semester, you will submit a portfolio that best serves your creative and professional goals. |
