Research Interests

Computational design, generative modeling, artificial intelligence in architectural design and practice, design automation, machine learning, environmental and building-performance analysis, human movement and placemaking, architectural systems and workflows.

Recent Research Activities

Treadway’s recent research investigates how generative modeling and AI can be integrated into architectural practice to improve design analysis, efficiency, and decision-making. In Summer 2026, he is advancing a research collaboration between UCF and the international architecture firm HKS focused on developing and testing generative design and analysis workflows on active professional projects. The collaboration is supported by an awarded $36,646 HKS summer research grant. His related work also includes AI-driven tracking and visualization of human movement in built environments to support data-informed placemaking.

Professional Activities

Treadway is active in architectural education and professional engagement through the AIA Academic Alliance, where he serves as UCF Faculty Ambassador, and through collaborations with architecture firms and community organizations. His professional service has included advising AIAS chapters, managing the UCF Architecture Fabrication Lab, participating in AIA and University of Florida conferences and workshops, and supporting programs such as Black Architects in the Making. He also maintains an active architectural practice as founder, owner, and architect of +Design LLC.
