Debi Starr (MFA, University of Central Florida) is an associate lecturer, SVAD design area coordinator at the University of Central Florida. Her interest and influences in art and design began at an early age in New York. Her major influences have been: living in the Caribbean for over 30 years; her professional work as an artist and designer including costume designer, event designer and producer, design production manager, creative art director, graphic artist, and portrait painter; her work in commercial interior and exterior designs; her service as the co-coordinator of Advanced Design Lab (Adlab) at UCF; and her years of service as an art educator. She is working on her 11th year creating themes and large student art installation projects for UCF Celebrates the Arts.
