Biography
Robert Aiosa (MFA, University of Wisconsin–Madison, BFA, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia Pennsylvania) is an assistant professor and multimedia artist. After graduate school, Aiosa joined the renowned experimental atelier Graphicstudio at the University of South Florida, Tampa, as the head of sculpture production, where he worked collaboratively with leading and emerging artists to produce limited editions and unique works of art.
His current research is based in investigating the built environment and the constant changing urban landscape. Most recently, his sculptures and site-specific installations have focused on the relationship between the natural landscape and contemporary urbanization. Aiosa has been awarded many artist grants and fellowships, most recently at the Museum for Art in Wood in Philadelphia and at the Studios of Key West, Florida. Aiosa is currently an assistant professor of studio arts and the sculpture program coordinator at The University of Central Florida.
