The Department of Writing and Rhetoric administers two graduate programs:

Students in both programs learn to apply rhetorical theory to contemporary writing and literacy practices, including those in professional, civic, and community-based contexts.

Students work with a nationally recognized graduate faculty whose strengths include rhetorical history and theory, writing program administration, writing and digital media, professional writing and editing, community literacy, and transnational rhetoric. Some of our faculty are also active members of theĀ Texts and Technology Ph.D. program.
