I’ve often said that people make a university great. And that’s especially true for UCF. We have outstanding faculty and staff members who are dedicated to lifting the lives and livelihoods of our students, conducting cutting-edge research and making a difference in our community and across the globe.

Beginning in the 1980’s, the Scroll & Quill Society recognizes exceptional faculty members with achievements in publication and research. Dr. Blake Scott of the department of Writing and Rhetoric was inducted into the society on April 13, 2017 during a ceremony held at the Burnett Honors College.

Dr. Scott’s specialty is within the Rhetoric of Health & Medicine, often focusing on studying HIV/AIDS testing and prevention in the United States. Dr. Scott has received many awards for his research and has been published among some of the top presses. The department is very proud of his accomplishments thus far, and his induction into the Scroll & Quill Society further acknowledges his hard work and dedication to writing and research.
