The Digital Art & Emerging Experiences Minor provides students with an interdisciplinary pathway into digital creativity, digital art, and immersive experiences, equipping them with the artistic, technical, and conceptual skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As industries increasingly embrace digital art, animation, storytelling, video art, and motion design, this minor enables students from all majors to explore emerging technologies through a creative lens.

The minor requires 18 hours of coursework, 12 hours of which must be completed at UCF within the School of Visual Arts and Design.

Minor requirements include:

  • Complete the following:
    • GRA2101C – Introduction to Computer Art (3)
    • ART3647C – Art for Social Media (3)
    • ART3659C – The Art of AI (3)
    • ART3024C – Animation Studies (3)
    • ART2823 – Art as Interface (3)
  • Complete at least 1 of the following:
    • PGY2813C – Creative Smart Phone Photography (3)
    • FIL3041 – History of Animated Films I (3)
    • FIL4042 – History of Animated Films II (3)

Notes

As part of the program, some courses study the form and proportion of the human figure. Nude models are used as reference.
