Gabriela Raquel Rios and Douglas Walls have been awarded Faculty-in-Residence status by the McNair Scholars Program at the University of Central Florida.
The McNair Scholars Program is UCF’s nationally recognized program dedicated to preparing low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented undergraduate students for graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
One of the most important components of the McNair Scholars Program is the faculty mentor/scholar relationship. McNair Faculty-in-Residence help plan and implement educational, recreational, social and cultural programs while serving as role models, mentors, advisers, and teachers to McNair scholars. Serving as Faculty-in-Residence also provides Drs. Rios and Walls opportunities for community-based outreach and digital literacy research.
