Every spring, the Women’s and Gender Studies program with the Farmworker Association of Florida plans a one-day conference for women farmworkers in the Apopka area. The conference is conducted in English, Spanish and Creole for the benefit of the participants. Some of the topics discussed are women’s health, domestic violence, trauma, financial freedom, self-esteem and overall empowerment.

All expenses are fund raised by the Women’s Studies program, including lunch for women and children, T-Shirts and tote bags full of hygiene products per family.
