Conferences
Woman to Woman Conference
Every spring, the Women’s Studies program with the Farmworker Association of Florida plans a one-day conference for women farmworkers in the Apopka area. Read more about this conference.
International Women’s Issues Conference
hosed by UCF in 2016 and 2018, IWIC fosters discussion of global issues affecting women directly or indirectly through education, the use of technology and the transformation of leadership skills.
International Connections
UCF Women’s and Gender Studies has engaged in multiple programs with the U. S. Department of Education’s Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad.
Administered in conjunction with UCF’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, programs like these can help instructors increase their linguistic and cultural competence and also promote the integration of humanities and international studies.
A Woman’s Place: Language and Literature Alive in Argentina
This research and teaching project is a four-week immersion program for language and culture in Argentina. The project will uncover 16 women in Argentine history as building blocks of culture and society.
Building Bridges with Language and Culture in Russia
A four week curriculum development project in Russia focused on language, culture, history, and politics as the means to understand Russia in the international community, its historical stages, and the current political influence.
