Scholarships

1. Students that have been awarded a scholarship or Out-of-State Tuition award should see it posted on their account before school begins. However, there will be a hold on the award.
2. The hold is placed on the account because music scholarship recipients signed a contract of regulations they need to meet. Some of these regulations are registering for a minimum of 12 credit hours, applied lessons and a major ensemble per semester. These requirements will be checked for each student the week following add/drop week.
   Once the Music Department has checked each student's registration confirming they meet the contract requirements, Student Financial Services will be notified to release the hold. This process could take most, if not all, of the second week of classes
3. As long as the scholarship information is on the financial aid system before tuition and fees are due and the amount is sufficient to cover all charges the student should not incur a late fee
4. The scholarship creates a deferment of the charges on the student's account. Deferments allow for the time lag that normally occurs between the dates that tuition and fees are due, and the date on which financial aid disbursements are made.

Dedicated theatre patrons Diane and Lawrence Wink have established this scholarship to acknowledge the recipient’s active involvement in Departmental productions coupled with high academic achievement. The criteria are:

• Junior or senior (at the time of the award) enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student as a theatre major at UCF.
• Minimum of 3.5 Theatre GPA
• Working towards first bachelor’s degree
• Documented active involvement in multiple Theatre UCF productions via a resume submitted with the scholarship application.

In honor of their many years of valued service, the Tom Begley/Lani Harris Scholarship was created to assist those students who show a commitment to design technology, acting, musical theatre or theatre studies at Theatre UCF.

• Freshman, sophomore, junior or senior (at the time of the award) enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student as a theatre major at UCF.
• Must be in good academic standing
• Working towards first bachelor’s degree
• Documented active involvement in Theatre UCF productions via a resume submitted with the scholarship application.

A separate application and essay is required for this application.

This scholarship is established to assist a BFA Musical Theatre Major who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and is enrolled full-time.

Please note a separate application, essay and letter of recommendation are required for this application.

This scholarship was established to honor Mark Brotherton, whose lasting impact is seen in the students he mentored, the lessons he instilled, the jokes he shared and the heart he brought to every interaction he had.

Brotherton was an associate professor in theatre performance and came to UCF from the University of Oklahoma, where he directed and performed in numerous productions. He had an impressive resume after 25 years contributing to Central Florida stages, having directed, acted in and coached for more than 90 productions at the university and its partner organizations.

This scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time junior or senior UCF student majoring in theatre (up to $1,000).

• Applicant(s) must be majoring in the field of theatre.
• Applicant(s) must be a junior or senior standing with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
• Applicant(s) are encouraged to submit a letter (500 words or less) describing how obstacles they have faced shaped their life and how a degree in theatre will strengthen their educational and career aspirations.
• Preference will be given to applicant(s) working towards earning their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.

Scholarship for Graduate Students in Performing and Visual Arts

Graduate students in the UCF School of Visual Art & Design or the School of Performing Arts are eligible for scholarships worth up to $4,000. Scholarship will be awarded during the academic year following the semester of application.

These scholarships are available to students paying out-of-state tuition costs and are credited against the out-of-state portion of tuition. They are available to both incoming and continuing students. Total out-of-state waiver money from all sources cannot exceed your actual out-of-state expenses. Multiple out-of-state awards from different offices will be reduced to match your actual costs.

Talent Grant Scholarships are awarded by the faculty every year based upon departmental contribution and talent. Talent Grant Scholarships are generally awarded to continuing rather than incoming students.
