UCF will celebrate alongside community partner Orlando Family Stage (OFS) as the theatre marks its 100th anniversary.
For a century, Orlando Family Stage has inspired audiences and fostered creativity in Central Florida, creating a niche as an innovator of theatre for young audiences. Children’s programming has long been central to the theatre’s mission, with programming ranging from public and field trip performances to the Youth Academy program for high school artists and practitioners to professional development programs for teachers. Additionally, OFS has a unique partnership with UCF’s theatre program: a collaborative Theatre for Young Audiences graduate program.
The partnership with UCF provides students studying Theatre for Young Audiences hands-on experience in professional productions, outreach, and arts education. Faculty and students contribute to performances, design, and teaching, carrying on OFS’s legacy while preparing the next generation of theatre professionals.
The centennial has already brought great surprises and programming to the theatre, including a $500,000 gift from Dr. Phillips Charities and a new book festival. Look for two events at UCF Celebrates the Arts 2026 featuring Orlando Family Stage performers. Additionally, OFS will be partnering with UCF’s History Department and RICHES to create a digital archive that will help ensure that their history remains accessible to students, families, researchers, and future generations.
Please join UCF in celebrating 100 years of impact with Orlando Family Stage. We look forward to the next 100 years with you.
