Reymyah McGhee (Hetchman’s Wife U/S) is a senior in the BFA Acting program. Jada Kamau (Hetchman’s Wife) is a Dallas native and is thrilled to be making her UCF Performing Arts debut. Previous credits include Parkapalooza and Citizen Scrooge in Dallas, as well as the title role in Aida at Morgan State University. She is grateful for the opportunity to tell this beautiful story alongside such a talented cast and creative team. Jada thanks her family for their unwavering love and support and gives all glory to Christ.

Angelina DuBois (Voice) is a senior in the BFA Acting program. Some of her previous credits include Vanya, Sonia, Masha, and Spike (U/S Masha), Matt and Ben (Matt), and Murder at The Mirage Hotel (Lisa Ann). She also has recently enjoyed working behind the table on The Clean House (Assistant Director) and Rocky Horror Picture Show (Director). @angelinaadubois.

Belyam Lopez (Wall) is a second year transfer student in the BA Theatre Program, specializing in applied performance. She is thrilled to be making her Theatre UCF debut. Other theatre credits include Twelfth Night (Viola), Peter/Wendy (Wendy), and She Kills Monsters (Kaliope). She is involved in Project Spotlight and has been for the past year. Troy Leatherman (U/S Hetchman, U/S Meckel) is a second-year transfer student and a BA Applied Performance major. His previous credits include One Man Two Guvnors (U/S Harry Dangle), Dracula Radio Show (Dracula), and Sir Toby Belch (Twelfth Night). He is a director for Project Spotlight, as well as a part of the Jeanette M Gould Traveling Theater Troupe.

Nora Rudmann (Wall) is a junior in the B.A. Theatre program and is delighted to be making her Theatre UCF debut in such a whimsical production. Recent credits include The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals (Charlotte) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Lady Bracknell). Nora is also a director for Project Spotlight and will serve as an Assistant Dramaturg on Theatre UCF’s production of Twelfth Night. @nora.rudmann

Kailynn Claros (U/S Voice) is a first year transfer in the BFA Acting program. Her previous credits include Hadestown (Eurydice), Everybody (Love), A Monster Calls (Mum), How the Moon Would Talk (Ally), Chicago (Velma Kelly), Seussical (Sour Kangaroo), and many more! Beyond theater acting she has starred in two indie horror films (Welcome to Weshaven 1 and 2) and has been behind the desk for Seussical (Assistant directed) and Death by Dessert (Directed). Evan Souza (Meckel) is a first-year MFA Acting student making his Theatre UCF debut. Hailing from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he holds B.A.’s in Biology and Theatre from Wake Forest University, where he was a Presidential Scholar in Theatre. Previous roles include Waitress (Ogie U/S), 25th Annual… (Leaf), and The Normal Heart (Tommy). He’s a radical optimist and hopes this performance makes you feel a bit less floaty. 

Eli Powell (U/S Gabe) is a second-year BFA Musical Theatre student. His previous Theatre UCF credit was Vanya, Sonia, Masha, and Spike (U/S Spike). He is from a town 30 minutes north-west of Minneapolis Minnesota, where he created a small production company to put on Theatre for Young Audiences shows for kids in the community for years to come. Daniel Poulos (Gabe) is a second-year BFA Musical Theatre Major. His previous UCF performances include the musicals Legally Blonde (Swing) and Urinetown (Ensemble, U/S officer Barrell). Beyond the UCF stage his favorite roles have been in She Loves Me (Georg Nowack) and 42nd Street (Julian Marsh). Juliana Williams (U/S Wall) is ecstatic to be involved in her first Theatre UCF production! She is a third year B.A. Theatre and Psychology double major. Benjamin Pratt (Wall) is a first year MFA acting student making his Theatre UCF debut. Connor Hullender (U/S Golem) is a first year BFA Acting Major and is excited to be a part of his first production with Theatre UCF. His previous acting credits include working at the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival as Poins/Lancaster/Mortimer/Warwick in The World Premiere of Shakespeare’s Falstaff, and at Dreyfoos School of the Arts as Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone. @cjhullender

John Washington (Run and Wardrobe) is a senior pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Studies, with hopes of becoming a drama teacher. This is his first year with the UCF Theatre program after previously attending Jacksonville University, where he gained experience working on productions such as Urinetown, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and The Laramie Project. 

May Gold (Production Electrician) is a junior in the BFA Design and Technology program. Her work has also been seen in Visiting Hours (Lighting Designer) and Legally Blonde (Associate Production Electrician). Outside of UCF, she works as an Parade Float Driver for Universal Orlando. Joseph Slater (Assistant Director ) is a second-year Theatre for Young Audiences MFA student at the University of Central Florida. Joseph worked under UCF Theatre Director Michael Wainstein as the dramaturg for Theatre UCF’s 2025 musical, Fiddler on the Roof, researching the Russian pogroms of the early 20th century. He was also a Teaching Assistant for UCF Lecturer Ralph Krumins's Script Analysis class. Finally, he was the assistant director for Orlando Family Stage’s performance workshop, The Secret Life of Kid Mario. Joseph is currently working as the assistant director for Theatre UCF’s 2026 production of Hatmaker’s Wife. Joseph plans to research Judaism in the field of theatre, especially how Judaism can be integrated into Theatre for Young Audiences.

Hannah Kemp (Assistant Director) is a second year MA for Theatre Studies student. At UCF, she was a part of the devising/writing process of Human in the Loop for Celebration of the Arts. She was on the writing team for Cheese Louise for the Jeanette M. Gould traveling theatre. Hannah has also been seen on stage in Noises Off (Poppy), Laughing Stock (Elle), and Twelve Angry Jurors (Juror #5). 

Lila McMorris (Production Manager Production Assistant) is a fourth-year Stage Manager at UCF and thoroughly enjoyed developing her skills in Production Management. She is looking forward to working at the Dr. Phillips Center in the Spring as a Stage Manager for UCF Celebrates the Arts 2027. Some past UCF credits include The River Bride (SM), Rent (SM), Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Programmer). She currently holds an on-call position with IATSE Local 631 and was previously employed at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts as their Stage Manager Theatre Education Intern.

Phoenix Connick (Stage Manager) is a second-year in the BFA Stage Management program. He has previously worked on Pegasus PlayLab 26 (Asst. Production Manager), Legally Blonde (Production Manager Production Assistant), The Wizard of Oz (Youth Edition) (Production Assistant) at Orlando Family Stage, and One Man, Two Guvnors (Fly Rail Operator)

Claudia Lynch (Stage Managers’ Advisor/ Show Crew Assignment Supervisor) Claudia is an Associate Professor and the Area Coordinator of the BFA in Stage Management. Claudia is the Interim Co-Undergraduate Coordinator, and the Theatre UCF Internship Coordinator. She is also the Program/Academic Advisor for the BA in Administration and Directing. And she is the Faculty Production Supervisor for UCF Celebrates the Arts. Claudia supervises the Theatre UCF Audition Office, and she is the Faculty Liaison for the Theatre UCF Professional Advisory Board. Aidan Ward (Light Board Operator) is a 2nd Year in the Theatre B.A. program. Previously, Aidan has worked as a Production Management PA on Legally Blonde and as an E-Shop Crew Member during the ‘26-’27 season. He was also an Electrics Intern at The REV Theatre, and a Show Lighting Intern at Universal Creative. He currently works as an Entertainment Tech at the Magic Kingdom. 

Vandy Wood (Scenic Designer) is a visual artist and theatrical designer. She has been a faculty member in the theatre department at the University of Central Florida since 2003, where she teaches design and coordinates the Theatre for Young Audiences graduate program. Her recent creative activities include designs for Theatre UCF, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Fifth Wall Productions, James Madison University, and Triad Stage and she regularly participates in developing new plays at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, ATHE, WildWind Performance Lab, and Pegasus PlayLab. Vandy co-edited Playing with Theory in Theatre Practice published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2012 and designed the set for Jane Henson’s Nativity for a CBS special entitled A New York Christmas To Remember, which aired in December 2013 in the United States and in 2016 in Canada. Vandy was a Drama Desk Awards nominee for Outstanding Puppet Design in 2018 and a UCF Luminary award recipient in 2023.

Lauren Bowrosen (Run Crew) is a fourth year in the BFA Musical Theatre program. She has been seen on the UCF stage in Legally Blonde (Vivienne Kensington), Fiddler on the Roof (Ensemble, Tzeitel U/S), Urinetown (Ensemble, Soupy Sue U/S), The Prom (Swing), and Sweeney Todd (Swing). Her professional credits include Newsies (Katherine Plumber), Sister Act (Mary Robert), Crazy For You (Tess), Hairspray (Tammy, Velma Von Tussle U/S), Mary Poppins (Mrs. Brill, Ensemble, Winifred Banks U/S), West Side Story (Graziella). Marcella Chambers (Paint Charge) is a second-year transfer in the BFA Design & Technology program. Her previous theatrical experience includes Pegasus PlayLab’s Raccoon Play (Assistant Scenic Designer, Paint Charge), SMTE’s Anything Goes! (Co-Scenic Designer, Paint Charge), PBTS’s Disaster! Sage Tokach (Director) is a visiting assistant professor of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA), returning to UCF as an alum of the TYA MFA program. In Orlando, Sage works as a guest director and teaching artist at Orlando Family Stage, and she coordinates the Jeanette M Gould Traveling Theater, which brings arts programming to local children’s hospitals. She has worked as an education director, teaching artist, and guest director at organizations across the country, including the New London Barn Playhouse, Maples Repertory Theatre, Missoula Children’s Theatre, and the state parks system. In any project, Sage is interested in creating a learning space where students of all ages are encouraged to explore, share ideas, and ask challenging questions.

Abigail Reeves (Wardrobe Supervisor) is a second-year transfer in the BFA Stage Management program. She has previously worked on Raccoon Play (Run Crew), Offshoot (Stage Manager), Legally Blonde the Musical (Production Assistant), and The Wizard of Oz (Youth Edition) at Orlando Family Stage (Production Assistant). 

From the beginning of our process, our creative team was struck by playwright Lauren Yee’s use of layering through physical objects, time, emotional landscapes, and references to Jewish and Eastern European culture. At first glance, The Hatmaker’s Wife is a whimsical play about two couples, a missing hat, and walls that come to life. Under the surface, though, lives a nuanced, universal tale about the stories we inherit and the love we give and receive in a lifetime.

The world of the play complicates lines between past and present, fable and reality, humor and pain. Our production visually manifests this fluidity through spandex walls that characters move around and through. Our golem is made of mud from the ground and also upholstery materials from the world above. Onstage objects mix old wood and burlap with plastic. Even the distinctions between design areas merged as the costume shop experimented with dyeing techniques for our onstage walls. 

Amid these layers, some core truths emerge: human connections ground us, and loving, reciprocal relationships keep us from drifting into isolation. At the same time, the play raises questions whose answers intentionally remain less clear. How do we show love to each other? What are our obligations to those we love? How does knowing our history inform our present? What is the cost of vulnerability?
