June 1–3, 2026: Conducting Symposium 

Hosted off-campus at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church

The Passion & Purpose National Conducting Series is proud to launch its inaugural event — THE UCF PASSION & PURPOSE CONDUCTING SYMPOSIUM — a transformative three-day intensive held in Central Florida. This focused masterclass is dedicated to high-level artistic growth and practical professional development, and is open to all music directors, teachers, students and musicians. The symposium culminates in a final concert on the evening of June 3, 2026.

We are honored to welcome two giants of the choral art form and our superb collaborative pianist to lead our masterclass sessions and clinics:

Participation Tracks: Choose Your Experience

The symposium is structured to provide deep engagement for every participant, whether you seek intensive podium time or advanced professional training. The Passion & Purpose Symposium promises to be the premier conducting event of the summer. Full Participant (Conductor)

LIMITED ENROLLMENT: Strictly limited to 8 accepted conductors.
TUITION: $650 (Due upon acceptance).
APPLICATION FEE: A non-refundable $35 fee is required with the application submission.
PROFESSIONAL CREDIT: Eligible to earn CEU / Recertification Points upon request.
VALUE: Receive 67.5 total minutes of focused podium time with the 80-voice workshop choir and personalized coaching from Dr. Thomas and Dr. Armstrong. Next Steps: Selective application required.

Auditor / Teacher (Choir Member & Observer)

PARTICIPATION FEE: $250
PROFESSIONAL CREDIT: Eligible to earn CEU / Recertification Points. This is a prime opportunity for professional development!
TRAINING: Access all masterclasses and 7.5 hours of dedicated clinical sessions on score study, rehearsal technique and choral tone.
ROLE: Serve as a dedicated singer in the 80-voice workshop choir.

Student Auditor

PARTICIPATION FEE: $100
PROFESSIONAL CREDIT: Eligible to earn CEU / Recertification Points upon request.
ACCESS: Accessible, subsidized access for current college students.
EXPERIENCE: Observe all masterclasses and sing under the direction of Dr. Thomas and Dr. Armstrong for a nominal fee.
