UCF’s Clarinet Boot Camp is a three-day intensive program designed to educate and inspire young clarinetists. Daily masterclasses and individual coaching sessions provide continual and concentrated input from clarinet faculty member Rie Suzuki. The camp also features instruction on musicians’ wellness, including breathing techniques and yoga movements.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds of camp tuition must be submitted no later than 11 business days prior to camp start date. No refunds will be considered within two weeks prior to the start of the camp session. Transaction fees paid to Purple Pass during registration are non-refundable, and a $50 processing fee is deducted from all refunds.

Food

Food will not be provided. Students are responsible for paying for their meals for the duration of the camp.

Day 1–2
7:30–7:45 a.m. – Check-in
8:00–9:00 a.m. – Yoga with Dr. Hunt
9:00–10:00 a.m. – Foundations: warm-ups & scales with Dr. Suzuki
10:00–11:00 a.m. – Clarinet Ensemble rehearsal
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. – Breathing Class with Dr. Garcia and Dr. Suzuki
12:00–1:00 p.m. – Lunch (tutoring session available with assistant)
1:00–2:00 p.m. – Clarinet Ensemble rehearsal
2:00–3:00 p.m. – Clarinet Masterclass (All-State prep, solo rep, memorization, focus skills) with Dr. Suzuki
3:00 p.m. – Check-out
Day 3
7:30–7:45 a.m. – Check-in
9:00–10:00 a.m. – Foundations: warm-ups & scales with Dr. Suzuki
10:00–11:00 a.m. – Clarinet Masterclass (audition skills) with Dr. Suzuki
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. – Clarinet Ensemble rehearsal
12:00–1:00 p.m. – Lunch (tutoring session available with assistant)
1:00–2:30 p.m. – Clarinet Ensemble rehearsal
2:30–3:00 p.m. – Concert Preparation & Soundcheck
3:00–4:00 p.m. – Boot Camp Showcase & Concert, and All-County Music store display (M150)

Parking Garage I (next to PAC Music Building) for $8 per day or next to Parking Garage I in a “green” spot. Please purchase the Daily Permit here. Please note that the red or blue parking is for faculty and staff only and will result in a ticket. Additionally, Parking Lots H4 (left of the PAC Building) and H2 (behind the PAC Building) will be closed.

Overnight campers will stay in UCF's Lake Claire housing.

Drop-off for housing will be inside the Performing Arts Center - Music Building at the Box Office. Check-in time for students that are staying in housing is Thursday, June 12 at 4PM.

Check-out will occur in the morning on the last day of camp. Luggage storage will be available.

Linens and towels are provided.
