Chicurel publishes musical theatre textbook

Steven Chicurel has cowritten Music Theory for Musical Theatre, a textbook published by The Scarecrow Press. John Bell and Steven R. Chicurel explore how musical theatre composers use basic principles of music theory to help illuminate characters and tell stories, while helping the student understand the form, structure, and dramatic power of musical theatre repertoire.

UCF Jazz Festival on NPR

Sara Myers takes gold at Drum Corps International Championships

Sara Myers, a sophomore music education major, wins first place for High Brass at the Drum Corps Individual & Ensemble Competition held in Indianapolis, IN. The Individual & Emsemble Competition is a highly competitive event during the Drum Corps International Championships. She scored 97 points out of a possible 100.
