Casting Call: See What Our Theatre UCF Alumni Have Been Up To!

Eric Ulloa ’06BFA (musical theatre) will be playing Jud in Theatre Under the Stars’ production of Oklahoma! with Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez.

Ulloa is the author of 26 Pebbles, which had its world premiere at The Human Race Theatre Company. The play was featured in American Theatre Magazine and The New York Times and won the Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award 2017. Eric is the book writer of the musical Passing Through, which was featured at Goodspeed’s 2018 Festival of New Musicals and was a part of the 2017 Rhinebeck Writer’s Retreat. Eric is also the book writer of the musical Molly Sweeney, based on the play by Brian Friel, which was a part of the Bay Street Theatre 2017 Festival of New Works. On the other side of the footlights, Eric was most recently in the Original Broadway Company of On Your Feet!: The Story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

David Paul Kidder ’12BFA (musical theatre) will be in the national tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Launching in September from Buffalo, New York, the year-long tour will cross the U.S. and end in Dallas, Texas in September 2019.

On the Theatre UCF stage, David was Cinderella’s Prince in Into The Woods, John Tracy in John & Jen, Lucky in Dames At Sea, Paul/Dance Captain in Rent, Police/Dance Captain in Pirates of Penzance and Gee-Tar in West Side Story.

Kyle Ashe Wilkinson ’15BFA (musical theatre, dance minor)is making his off-Broadway debut in The Book of Merman as Elder Braithwaite at St. Luke’s Theatre in New York. Performances begin on October 5 with an opening set for October 21. In The Book of Merman, hilarity ensues as two Mormon missionaries unknowingly ring the doorbell of Tony-winning Broadway icon Ethel Merman.

Kyle portrayed Molina in Theatre UCF’s Kiss of the Spider Woman during the 2014-2015 season. Since receiving his BFA, he has been working as a performer around the country – stunts, stage combat, playing the tuba.

Stephen Rochet ’16BFA (acting) will be in the tenth anniversary national tour of Rock of Ages. Rochet will be Ensemble/Swing and understudy for Drew and Stacee Jaxx. The tour will blaze across North America this fall, beginning in New York this October and ending in Tampa, Florida next June. The tour will also include stops in West Palm Beach, Jacksonville and The Villages.

Stephen was a transfer student from Florida Atlantic University before debuting as Charlie in The Foreigner at Theatre UCF. He also played Guido in Nine and Warden in Kiss of the Spider Woman in the 2014-2015 season.
