The Department of Writing and Rhetoric hosted a virtual graduation celebration prior to the May 2 commencement ceremony for 15 graduating graduate and undergraduate students in order to recognize their accomplishments. The graduates were joined by their friends, family and Writing and Rhetoric faculty and staff. In addition to celebrating the new graduates, the department also recognized and honored faculty and student award winners.

Vanessa Calkins (pictured), Emily Proulx, Dr. Laurie Pinkert (pictured), Emily LaPadura (not pictured) and Melissa Pompos-Mansfield (not pictured) won the Department of Writing and Rhetoric’s Outstanding Community Engagement Faculty Award. Emily Proulx presented the award as a member of the Award selection committee.

 

Stuart Dees & L. Corinne Jones; Corinne won the Department of Writing & Rhetoric Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Teaching Excellence Award. Corinne is a Texts & Technology PhD student. Stuart Dees presented the student awards as the Chair of the award selection committee.
