In March 2026, ten faculty members in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric are presenting at the Conference on College Composition and Communication, the largest national conference in writing studies, in Cleveland, OH. Their presentation, “Constructing a Socioculturally-Informed First-Year Writing Program through Collective Actions at a Hispanic-Serving Institution,” highlights the grassroots, faculty-driven student learning outcomes in ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. This roundtable will encourage attendees to consider values-driven approaches to curriculum development and program assessment to advance programmatic aims and initiatives.
The following faculty members will be presenting: Pamela Baker, Joel Bergholtz, Meeghan Faulconer, Nikolas Gardiakos, Vee Kennedy, Natalie Madruga, Lissa Pompos-Mansfield, Emily Proulx, Kenneth Tanemura, and Shane Wood.
