We in Animation at UCF recognized for championing empowerment and advocacy in the animation industry.

Each year, UCF’s Office of Student Involvement hosts the RSO Impact Awards, celebrating the achievements of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) across campus. This year, many student organizations have taken impactful steps to make events more accessible to various student communities, organized successful fundraisers for causes they believe in, and promoted education and awareness about topics they are passionate about.

UCF’s School of Visual Arts and Design has numerous student organizations associated with the arts, one being We in Animation – the UCF chapter of the international organization, Women in Animation. The organization’s goal is to celebrate and uplift underrepresented and marginalized voices in the animation industry, while also providing its members with professional development opportunities through workshops, portfolio reviews, virtual expositions, and networking with industry leaders.

We in Animation at UCF received the Advocacy and Social Justice Award at this year’s RSO Impact Awards. This honor recognizes their dedication to social change, advocacy and student empowerment around issues such as equity, human rights and justice. SVAD is proud of their commitment to fostering positive change in the animation community and looks forward to seeing how these young leaders will shape the future of the industry.
