Maria Santana has been recognized as a Title IX Champion by the American Association of University Women.
Santana was honored for her work on behalf of women and girls in education, including her leadership of UCF’s Women’s Studies Program, her work with AAUW programs, and her community activism.
The American Association of University Women‘s mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. Since its founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic and political.
- Maria Cristina Santana is an Associate Professor in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, the Program Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, and an affiliated faculty member in the Latin American Studies Program.
