On Friday, June 4 the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art opened at the Orlando Museum of Art for its seventh year. This year, varying disciplines and artworks are highlighted from 10 Florida state artists, one of which is UCF professor Robert Rivers.
“At one entrance to the exhibition, visitors can find photographs from Miami-based Anastasia Samoylova that explore the nature of water and climate change. Around the corner, an entire wall is dedicated to the stream-of-consciousness drawing work by Rivers.”
Rivers was selected to win the Florida Prize $20,000 monetary award and will have an informal tour with a curator on June 30. (click here to register for this tour.)
The exhibition will be on view through August 22 at the Orlando Museum of Art.
