Alla Kourova is the winner of multiple faculty awards this spring. Most recently, she was honored for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching at both the college and university level.
Kourova received the 2014 University Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award. Previously, she was one of four college-level winners from the Arts & Humanities.
UCF’s Office of Academic Affairs sponsors the awards, which are given each year to 20 full-time faculty members from around the university. From among those winners, a committee with representation from multiple colleges chose Kourova for the university-level award.
She was honored at the Founders’ Day Honors Convocation in April.
Kourova also recently received an in-house grant for her “Picturing Russia” project. In addition, she won the Office of Undergraduate Research Award for Research and Mentoring along with her student Irina Pidberjna, who is pursuing a minor in Russian.
