At the end of April, four Theatre UCF students made their way to Washington, D.C. for The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), a national theater program involving 18,000 students annually from colleges and universities across the country. Representing Theatre UCF were students Kayla Amburgey, River Banks, Kaitlyn Gamory and Zachary Racine.
Kayla’s outstanding talent in stage management secured her a full scholarship to the Broadway Stage Management Symposium. Kayla also earned a Stage Management Fellowship as part of The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center Fellowships program.
During the festival, Kaitlyn earned the title of National Sound Design Awards Runner-Up her work on last fall’s production of “Metamorphoses”.
All four students represented Theatre UCF with distinction at the KCACTF finals, and we are so proud of their dedication to their craft, as well as their contributions to the program. Together they showcased not only their individual talents, but also the collective strength and skill across all aspects of the department. Congratulations to all of our KCACTF winners and finalists!
