WGST wins Community Grant with Farmworker Association of Florida

The Burnett Honors College gave the research team of Dr. M. C. Santana (Director, UCF Women’s and Gender Studies program) and Jeannie Economos (Farmworker Association of Florida) a community grant for their project “Exploring communication realities among Black and Brown Farmworkers in Apopka: A Service Learning Outreach Project with the Farmworker Association of Florida” for an in-depth look at how both ethnic and racial groups work with one another.

Wells Fargo Community Grant for the Young Women Leaders Program

Dr. Bubriski-McKenzie receives a $5000 Community Grant from Wells Fargo – Orlando for the Young Women Leaders Program (YWLP). This grant provides the necessary resources to effectively run YWLP for one year. In addition to needed supplies, food and programming materials, the Wells Fargo Community Grant also allows for additional workshops in STEM with MadScience, financial literacy with Wells Fargo, and career exploration with local women professionals!
