The College of Arts and Humanities has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel many upcoming events, including UCF Celebrates the Arts.

This course taught by Women’s and Gender Studies lecturer Anne Bubriski empowers students to hone their own leadership qualities by drawing inspiration from women leaders of the past and present.

CAH is celebrating Women’s History Month with a variety of events hosted in the library during the month of March.

This year’s community art showcase takes place April 7 – 19, with tickets on sale March 2, and includes pieces that honor the late feminist art movement pioneer.

Two of the three 2019 awardees are from the College of Arts and Humanities.

Apply for the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts & Wellness Innovation Awards now through October 10. Two winners will be selected and receive $25,000 each. The purpose of the awards is to build sustainable models for arts and wellness innovation both across the community and UCF campus.

Dr. Mel Stanfill’s new book Exploiting Fandom. Exploiting Fandom examines how the relationship of media industries to fans is shaped by heteronormativity, whiteness, consumption, copyright law and labor.

On March 5, UCF writer and professor Fayeza Hasanat read selections from her new book of short stories, “The Bird Catcher and Other Stories.”

The Bell Hooks Reading Room in Women’s and Gender Studies is now open for readers.
