Professor Yun-Ling Hsu (DMA) was honored to be invited as a judge for the “2018 American Classical Pianist International Piano Competition,” a masterclass teacher, and an attendee in Sino-American Piano Education Symposium in Guangzhou, China.

In the Orlando Sentinel’s “Best of Central Florida Theater: 2018 Year in Review,” many UCF creatives were saluted by resident theater critic Matthew J. Palm for their outstanding work in the theater arts. Across the 25 categories, 27 UCF faculty, staff, students and alumni were recognized for their incredible talents.

Professor of violin and viola Ayako Yonetani gave a masterclass in Taiwan and bassoon assistant professor Yoon Joo Hwang gave masterclasses in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

The I Am UCF Digital Storytelling Initiative allows students to get creative by fusing together writing, performance, visual displays and digital media.

The UCF family is saddened to hear of the passing of long-time faculty member Lani Harris. Professor Harris will be remembered for her contributions to Theatre UCF, the university and beyond.

Jeff Moore, dean of the UCF College of Arts and Humanities, was awarded the Yamaha Legacy Education Award at the 2018 Percussive Arts Society (PAS) International Convention, one of the largest drum and percussion events in the world. The award is given once a year by the Yamaha Corporation of America to individuals who are considered legendary in their service to and effect upon music education.
