EXODUS|PILGRIMAGE is a multi-sensory interactive public performance piece honoring the resilience of the Puerto Rican community post Hurricane Maria. Join award-winning interdisciplinary artist Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz on a symbolic “pilgrimage” through downtown from City Arts Factory to Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Marking the forced migration of thousands of displaced Puerto Ricans in the wake of Hurricane Maria, Raimundi-Ortiz will be joined by Afro-Puerto Rican folkloric musicians Plena Mar Latino and Cukiara with costume design by Kristina Tollefson, the event will culminate in an evening of community song and dance.
Exodus|Pilgrimage begins at 5 p.m. at the CityArts Factory on S. Magnolia. A procession through downtown Orlando will lead to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and will enter the DeVos Family Room at 6 p.m. This is a free event, however tickets are required to enter the DeVos Family Room and it is advised to reserve in advance. No ticket is needed to watch the public processional.
ÉXODO|PEREGRINAJE es una obra interactiva multisensorial pública que honra la resiliencia de la comunidad puertorriqueña después del huracán María. Únase a la galardonada artista interdisciplinaria Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz en un “peregrinaje” simbólico a través del centro de la ciudad desde City Arts Factory a Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. Marcando la migración forzada de miles de puertorriqueños desplazados tras el huracán María, Raimundi-Ortiz se unirá a los músicos folclóricos afro-puertorriqueños Plena Mar Latino y Cukiara y vestuario diseñado por Kristina Tollefson, el evento culminará en una velada de canto y baile comunitario.

Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz is an internationally recognized interdisciplinary visual artist.
Recognitions include: 2018 UCF Women of Distinction, 2017 UCF Luminary Award, 2016 Franklin Furnace award, 2016 USA Fellowship nominee, among others,
MFA 2008 Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of Art Ralph Bunche Fellow, 2001 Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture alum;
