By Pierre Beaumarchais Directed by Frank McClain

A rollicking satire, this 1784 comedy revolves around a plot to dupe the devious Count Almaviva out of his “right” to defile the honor of his wife’s maid Suzanna, soon to be married to the clever and likeable servant Figaro. Its on-the-spot humor and master-servant rivalry happily skewered the upper classes. In keeping with the Commedia Del Arte tradition, it deftly unveils the foibles of the aristocracy, and provides the plot to the famous opera of the same name.
