Part One: A Solo Sojourn
The evening starts with a captivating solo performance by the Soprano/Alto Choir (SoAl) and University Singers, featuring selections of inspiring and uplifting pieces.
Part Two: A Journey Through Mortality and Hope
The second half culminates in a monumental performance of Mozart’s Requiem, uniting the UCF University Singers, UCF Chamber Choir, Tenor/Bass Choir (TeBa), Soprano/Alto Choir (SoAl), Orlando Choral Society, select members of the UCF Orchestra, and voice faculty of the UCF School of Performing Arts.
Mozart’s Requiem in D minor is one of Mozart’s most famous works and is considered to be one of the greatest pieces of choral works ever written. The piece, which was one of Mozart’s final compositions and completed by his protégé after his death, takes us on a journey through mortality and hope, offering solace and beauty in the face of life’s challenges. This timeless masterpiece transcends cultural and generational boundaries, offering a universal exploration of life and death.
