Art profoundly impacts individuals, extending beyond mere aesthetic appeal to influence attention, emotions, well-being, attitudes, and behavioral intentions across different contexts, including tourism and hospitality. The Hospitality Art Project aims to explore the effects of various attributes of artwork in hospitality settings on guests’ emotions, attitudes, and booking intentions.
In-depth interviews, surveys, and online experiments have been conducted to better understand guests’ perceptions of visual art in hospitality and to analyze its effects on booking intentions, satisfaction, and other outcomes within hotels, online travel agencies, and sharing economy platforms.
We extend particular gratitude to the staff and administration of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for their partnership over the past ten years.
