The School of Visual Arts & Design within the College of Arts & Humanities at the University of Central Florida is please to announce the appointment of Zachary Beckler as a Lecturer in Film starting in August 2016.
Zachary Beckler is an award-winning filmmaker specializing in narrative horror cinema in addition to digital post-production and sound design. His short films have screened at festivals around the world, including Fantastic Fest, Florida Film Festival, Imagine: Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival and Dead By Dawn Scotland International Film Festival. INTERIOR, Zachary’s feature-length debut, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Horror Feature at the renowned Shriekfest Film Festival in LA, Best Director at the NYC Horror Film Festvial, Best Thriller at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize at the StarLite Film Festival, who called it “one of the best films ever made about digital filmmaking.” Zachary holds a BFA in Film Production and an MFA in Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema from the University of Central Florida, where he teaches courses in production and cinema studies in the Film area of SVAD.
This past Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 4:30pm Zachary presented his film INTERIOR to the public at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts as part of UCF Celebrates the Arts! INTERIOR is an “alternative” horror film about one man alone in a haunted house capturing evidence of the supernatural over the course of one night.
