Ayako Yonetani will perform with the Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo as they present their first American tour. As a part of a celebration for the Japan-U.S. Cherry Blossom Centennial, the group will play at the Verizon Hall in Philadelphia on April 27, National Gallery in Washington, Harvard University’s Sander’s Theater in Boston on May 1, and the Alice Tully Hall in New York on May 2. The pieces that will be performed are Mozart’s Overture from Le Nozze di Figaro, Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, “Eroica“.
The concert tour is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and proceeds will be donated to support music activities in the area of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
