The Villages Daily Sun reports on the new Veterans Legacy Program website and app that was launched by UCF:
“‘Using a smartphone or tablet, visitors to Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell now can learn more about some of the veterans interred there.
The project involved researching and writing biographies of 109 veterans interred throughout the cemetery. It was rewarding work, said Amelia Lyons, director of graduate programs for the history department and principal investigator for the program.
‘I have had students say things to me like, ‘I have brought someone who had been forgotten in life and in death back to life,” she said.”
