Omnimodal, a company created by two alumni, was recently awarded a $25,000 investment by Rally: The Social Enterprise Accelerator. The company, launched in early 2017, merges real-time information from public transit systems (I-Ride Trolley, Sanford Trolley) with existing navigation apps on mobile phones (Google Maps, Transit App) so users can plan how to get around and make adjustments on the fly.
The company founders are both alumni of the School of Visual Arts & Design. David Thomas Moran, graduated with an MFA in Emerging Media, and Nathan Selikoff is an Art – Computer Animation BFA graduate. Moran is also currently a student in the Texts & Technology Ph.D. program.
In honor of “National Dump the Pump Day,” UCF sat down with the pair to ask a few questions. The full story is at https://today.ucf.edu/making-public-transit-easy-for-everyone/.
