Visual Arts Director / Chief Curator of the National Museum of Mexican Art Cesáreo Moreno invites Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz to participate in the 30th annual Day of the Dead Exhibition this September. Ortiz will create a site-specific ofrenda style installation in response to the recent tragedy of the Orlando Pulse nightclub. Ortiz has been gathering items from the Orlando area to include in the installation, extending the notion of collaborative art with the emotional response of the community and bringing the objects to Chicago to create a memorial. The tribute will be on display from September 23 to December 11 in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago as part of the largest annual Day of the Dead exhibition in the US.
