History student and Navy veteran Michael Richardson helped launched UCF’s Supply Vault for Student Veteran Success in November. The vault contains school supplies that are free to student veterans, including noise-cancelling headphones and keyboards.
“It is essential for assimilation from service to scholar,” Richardson told Spectrum News 13. “These are tools that the veteran student may not even know exists and may not even have the budget to spend freely.”
Richardson helped pick out every item in the vault based on his own needs as a student veteran. Since then, he’s been visiting the Veterans Academic Resource Center to help get the word out to UCF’s 1,400 student veterans.
“As a military veteran, legacy is important because we will pass on the torch to the future generations,” he said.
