Laura Martinez, an Instructor in Writing and Rhetoric and graduate of UCF’s M.A. program in Rhetoric and Composition, has been awarded a 2013 Scholars for the Dream Travel Award by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC).
This award celebrates the scholarly contribution of first-time presenters at CCCC who are members of traditionally underrepresented groups – African Americans, American Indians, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans and other Latino Americans, and Asian Americans.
Martinez’s name will be printed in the 2013 convention program in a special announcement, and her session will be identified in the program as being presented by a Dream Scholar. She will be introduced and receive her award at the Opening General Session of the CCCC conference in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 14, 2013, and there will be a reception in honor of all of the Scholars for the Dream winners that evening.
