Students in the Journey Cuba course and short-term study abroad program participated in a poster session on April 23 in which they shared their research on various topics pertaining to Cuba and their experiences in that country during an eight day trip over Spring Break 2018. Faculty, staff and students from across the University attended the event and had the opportunity to talk with the students, view a slide show and short film created by one of the student participants, and enjoy refreshments.
The Journey Cuba program will take place again in spring 2019. Students may register for the three-credit class and opt to go to Cuba over spring break 2019 or take the class and participate in a “Virtual Study Abroad” experience in which they will collaborate with students who go to Cuba. Students from all colleges and majors are welcome and knowledge of Spanish is not a requirement. This program is open to UCF students across all disciplines and would appeal particularly to students in History, Political Science, Latin American Studies, Spanish, Literature, Education, Art, Engineering and Music.
