Dr. Tiffany Earley-Spadoni, Associate Professor of History, has received the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR) Membership Service Award for the second consecutive year. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the ASOR community, and being honored in back-to-back years is a remarkable achievement.

Dr. Earley-Spadoni first earned the award in 2023 for her role in launching the “Digging Up Data” program. This initiative provided early career scholars with training in digital humanities, specifically focusing on data literacy, curation, and digital storytelling. The program culminated in year-long projects that were showcased at ASOR’s annual meeting.

This year, the award acknowledges her continued leadership as Chair of the Early Career Scholars (ECS) Committee, a position she has held since 2019. Under her guidance, the ECS Committee has expanded its offerings to include mentoring programs, professional development workshops, online resources, and networking opportunities. These initiatives have significantly supported early career scholars, aiding their professional growth within the ASOR community.

“It’s a privilege to support such a talented group of emerging scholars. I’m glad to provide the resources I wish had been available when I was at their stage,” said Dr. Earley-Spadoni.

She accepted the 2024 award in November at ASOR’s annual meeting, addressing the organization’s assembled members.
