This years’ inductees are experts in methodology, animation, music history, business ethics and other fields.

The ancient town of Pompeii, destroyed by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, has long fascinated society. This fall, the Orlando Science Center will host the traveling exhibition, “Pompeii: The Immortal City,” and two UCF collaborations from the College of Arts and Humanities will be featured.

Artwork commissioned for UCF Downtown pays homage to Parramore’s rich heritage.

SVAD students, alumni and faculty have represented UCF at Adobe Max in previous years presenting on various topics. This year is no different!

The installation, created by artist Nancy Gutkin O’Neil, was produced in partnership with Parramore residents and business owners and is part of the Art in State initiative at UCF.

The rooms feature pieces by Marcos Carrasco, Anthony DeSanto ’19, Colleen Falco, Emily Fisher ’20, Connor Peters ’20, and Jacob Wan ‘17’20MFA.

UCF School of Visual Arts and Design faculty and alumni are exhibiting their work at the Maitland Art Center as part of the New Works: An Artist-in-Action Group Exhibition which will be on view from October 9, 2020 – January 17, 2021.

Joo Kim, associate professor of studio art, has been honored with the 2020 FAEA Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award. Kim is the only UCF faculty member to have received this award to date.

The exhibition, which is available online indefinitely and in person on campus through Oct. 1, shines a light on the effects of mass incarceration on the lives of Americans. The exhibition is a culmination of a two-year project that brought contemporary artists to Central Florida to participate in a series of discussions with inmates enrolled in classes as part of the Florida Prison Education Project.

As part of an ongoing look at issues surrounding equity for people of color within Orlando’s arts scene, the Orlando Sentinel featured the UCF Art Gallery an its current exhibition.
