UCF has launched a new Center for Ethics, the culmination of several years of work by dedicated faculty in the College of Arts and Humanities with the support of the Office of Research.

The project will also create resources that can help victims suffering from these abuses in religious communities heal.

The summer 2019 issue of Pegasus explores adventure and features several CAH faculty members.

A first-year philosophy and political science student, Abigail Reynolds presented her undergraduate research, “How Fables Work: A Cross-Cultural Study” at the University of Oxford in England.

Jonathan Beever and partner Stephen Kuebler have won the 2019-20 COACHE Innovation Award. With this award, they will continue their project on cultivating an institutional culture of ethics and responsible conduct.

Apply for the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts & Wellness Innovation Awards now through October 10. Two winners will be selected and receive $25,000 each. The purpose of the awards is to build sustainable models for arts and wellness innovation both across the community and UCF campus.

Dr. Ann Gleig’s new book American Dharma: Buddhism Beyond Modernity explores the evolution of American Buddhism. By examining the cultural shifts through a modern and postmodern lens, Gleig argues that clear differences arise between “Traditional Buddhism” and “American Buddhism”. Cultural movements such as Black Lives Matter and #MeToo have also influenced the developments in American Buddhism.

Faculty members from across the college were honored at the 2019 Founders’ Day Honors Convocation, which recognizes UCF faculty members and students from across disciplines for their academic achievements, contributions and tenures.

Dr. Luis Favela has been accepted as a fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. This highly competitive fellowship will allow him to conduct research and network with researchers from top institutions. He will be conducting research based on previous research and publications on the topic of universality and neuroscience.
